Slash Solutions, LLC is a group of Northern Colorado property owners who have come together to form, fund and operate a local slash disposal site for the safety and betterment of our community. Our goal is to support property owners who undertake mitigation efforts by providing a local timber disposal option that is both affordable and convenient.   Our investors felt compelled to take personal action because it seemed that other community solutions were not materializing. A viable local site for slash disposal was felt to be imperative, because the cost and logistics of disposal in Fort Collins would likely deter property owners from cleaning up their properties.  Further, as the state of the forests continues to rapidly decline, open burns dangerous, specifically pose a much higher risk to the neighboring communities.

In just 84 Days we raised $150,000 capital, purchased all of our necessary equipment, and obtained all necessary permits, insurance and county approvals and were successful in negotiating with Larimer County to assume their lease at the Creedmore Lakes Road Sort Yard site.

We opened for business on August 25, 2011, just 95 days after deciding to form.  The owners of our site have also been extremely supportive of the venture as they realize the situation our communities are facing and have expressed a desire to be a part of providing a community solution.

Over the past two years many have investigated the various options available for long term implementation and have arrived at the same conclusion; which was to utilize an Air Curtain Burner to dispose of massive amounts of timber in a safe and environmentally friendly method. 

We opted to form a “for-profit venture”. Why? Several reasons have dictated our choice; however at the forefront was the fact that our group felt strongly that it was most important to get a local site implemented quickly to help the community get back on track in their efforts.  Whether “non-profit” or “for-profit”, there are the costs associated with doing business and providing service.  A fee is charged for providing the service to ensure that we cover our operating and administrative expenses and to set aside reserves to pay back the investors who have committed their personal funds to get this venture to a state of reality.  We will strive to keep those fees reasonable as we work with you the members of our community.  

We hope you will join us in feeling of a great sense of accomplishment and pride in the undeniable community spirit that has brought us from the think tank to reality in such a short length of time.
